Mother of missing teenager speaks CBS 58
The search is on for 13-year-old Allie Simon. Her parents tell CBS 58 they haven't seen their daughter since Sunday night when she vanished from her bedroom.
\"I came home late, and I put her to bed. Rubbed her back for a while, say good night sweet dreams and I'll see you in the morning. When we get up in the morning she wasn't there\", said the teen's mother Mary Simon.
Mary Simon tells CBS 58 her 13-year-old daughter has ran away from home twice in the past two weeks, but says she has never been gone for this long.
\"What she said to me the last time before this, she said mama I'm not running away from you I'm running away from me\", said Mary Simon. \"I just want her to come home.\"
Family and friends spent Wednesday evening posting flyers at several areas in Milwaukee including Good Hope Road and Teutonia Avenue where the teen was spotted in the past.
Glendale police say prevention is key if you have a runaway child. Bottom line, parents need to get in their child's business, monitor their internet and cell phone use.
\"You can't talk to your provider and get records of every cell phone conversation or text at monitor what they're up to\", said Officer Joel Dhein.
Police say they're not investigating anyone at this time, and the teen's parents are trying to figure out if their child may be with the person she met online.
\"We don't know that for sure\", said Mary Simon. \"We know that she used technology in the past. But we don't know if that's what's happening at this point in time.\"
The teen's parents tell CBS 58 their daughter might be going by the name of Adriana Simon. Anyone with information is asked to call Glendale police at 414-351-9900.
