Man jailed after Arizona man dies in Wisconsin altercation

CHASEBURG, Wis. (AP) — Authorities in southwestern Wisconsin say a 59-year-old man is in jail after an Arizona man died in an altercation.

The Vernon County Sheriff's Department got a 911 call Saturday morning from a home in rural Chaseburg. The caller reported suspicious activity at his home.

A sheriff's deputy found the body of 75-year-old Stuart George Warner of Snowflake, Arizona, outside the home.

An autopsy was scheduled Sunday, but authorities say a firearm was used during the altercation.

Authorities say Warner was staying with the man who called 911.

The La Crosse Tribune reports the man is in jail on suspicion of first-degree intentional homicide.
