Assembly Speaker Vos asks Evers to lower flags for Limbaugh
I just sent a request to the governor to lower the state and U.S. flags in honor of Rush Limbaugh. He will be missed. No doubt he has made a lasting impact on American politics and conservatism. pic.twitter.com/xAfGHYnV7V— Speaker Robin Vos (@SpeakerVos) February 17, 2021
Limbaugh has been lauded as a towering figure in conservatism and and media and has been inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame and the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
He was also a highly divisive figure.
He was criticized for making derogatory comments about marginalized communities, including the LGBT community, AIDS patients and women.
The Wisconsin State Journal reports that an Evers spokeswoman didn't immediately respond to a request seeking comment.
