Police investigating deaths of 2 women as double homicide

JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) -- Janesville police are investigating the deaths of two women as a double homicide.
Police were called about two women found with gunshot wounds near Interstate 39/90 early Monday. Both victims were taken to a hospital, where police say they died of their injuries.
Janesville Police Chief Dave Moore says no one was in custody early Monday afternoon. Police are withholding the names of the victims until their families are notified.
Police say the public is not in danger and that the women were targeted.

JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) -- Janesville police are investigating after two women were found with gunshot wounds near Interstate 39/90.
Police say one woman was unconscious and bleeding from her head while the other was unresponsive and bleeding from her mouth.
WISC-TV reports one of the women had stab wounds to her back.
Officials say four shell casings were found in the area. The women were found about 3 a.m. Monday and were rushed to the hospital.
Their conditions have not been released.
