Update as of 5:45 p.m.:
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette Police Department responded to a shots fired report inside of an apartment building located in the 500 block of N. 20th Street.
The Marquette University Police Department along with the Milwaukee Police Department responded immediately and closed off the area between 19th and 20th Streets, and Wisconsin Ave and Clybourn Street.
As a precaution, nearby university buildings including the Child Care Center were locked down.
The subject was identified and surrendered to police without incident.
The area is now open and there is no threat to the community.

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette Police Department is investigating a shots fired call that happened near 20th and Clybourn this afternoon.
Out of precaution, the Marquette Police Department has closed off the area between 19th and 20th streets and Wisconsin Avenue and Clybourn Street.
MUPD received a call from area residents who reported the sound of gunshots. MUPD and the Milwaukee Police Department are still working to confirm these reports.
No students were involved and there are currently no injuries reported.
CBS 58 News has a crew on the way to the scene and will bring updates as they become available.
