Aggie's Bakery Prepares for Fat Tuesday

Bakeries have been busy overnight preparing for customers who always line up near and far.

CBS 58 visited Aggie's Bakery in West Allis to look at their preparations for Fat Tuesday.

The polish style deep-fried donut covered in powdered sugar and filled with a sweet custard or jelly as a pre-Lenten treat.

Bakeries around the state have been busy making the sweet polish treats.

It's a polish style pasty, a deep fried donut, covered in powdered sugar that's filled with a sweet custard or jelly.

Prune is the traditional filling flavor, but you can find other flavors like cherry, raspberry, lemon and even cheese.

Many bakeries are opened early this morning in anticipation of selling hundreds even thousands of the pre-Lenten treat.
