Local Students Raise Money for Honor Flights

Local students are helping send veterans on an honor flight.

For the last two weeks they have been volunteering and raising thousands of dollars to send veterans to D.C. too see memorials in their honor.

The presentation was made at Shorewood Intermediate School today.

Students took a challenge from their counterparts in high school.

Atwater and Lake Bluff Elementary Schools also doing their part to give back to the veterans.

The schools have been raising money for honor flights for eight years.

In that time they've raised more than $38,000 and sent nearly eighty veterans on honor flights.
