Packers Look for W in the Snow Against Seahawks

A roller-coaster 2016 Packers season can take one of two decidedly sharp turns with the outcome of Sunday’s battle with the Seattle Seahawks at 3:25 at Lambeau Field.

A win will give Green Bay a three-game win streak and tons of momentum entering into the season’s home stretch of three games against division rivals, while keeping an NFC Wild Card berth in play. A loss, combined with a Lions win in Chicago, would put Green Bay three games behind the Lions for the NFC North lead with just three games to play.

Snowy conditions are expected at Lambeau Field for the second consecutive Sunday, with a decided advantage going to the Packers since they won 21-13 against the Texans in similar conditions last Sunday. Aaron Rodgers has said a key component of success Sunday will be younger players understanding of how to handle the elements.

The Seahawks are probably Green Bay’s most bitter rival outside the NFC North at the moment. Two of the most bitter memories of the last several Packers seasons have happened with the Seahawks on the opposing bench – the “Fail Mary” play in 2012 and the NFC Championship game early in 2015. Both of those games happened in Seattle, though, and the Seahawks haven’t won at Lambeau Field since 1999, a game in which Brett Favre threw four interceptions.

Linebacker Nick Perry has already been ruled out for this game with a hand injury, further stressing the Packers injury-depleted defense. Clay Matthews and Damarious Randall are among the Packers players questionable for the game, along with offensive linemen T.J. Lang and J.C. Tretter.

The Packers, at 6-6, are tied with the Vikings and two games behind the Lions in the NFC North. They’ll face Minnesota December 24th at Lambeau Field, followed by the regular season finale in Detroit on New Year’s Day.
