Mother of Murder Victim: Put the Guns Down

CBS 58-- A vigil was held Thursday night for one of the seven people killed in Milwaukee this week.
Quamari Carr was killed Monday on W. Wright Street and his mother is calling for an end to the violence.
"He was loving, he was caring, he was full of life," said Qualandra Carr, Quamari's mother.
Dozens of people showed up at Victory Temple for the vigil.
"I thank God I have people by my side but the pain is so unbearable," Carr said.
Quamari is one of seven people killed since Monday in Milwaukee.
"Consequently we have to host three funerals over the next seven days here due to gun violence," said Pastor Mario Dickens.
Pastor Dickens says he lost two cousins to gun violence this week.
All of the victims were on the minds of the mourners at Victory Temple.
"Incident after incident it chips away at you," said community activist Tory Lowe. "And it cause you to wonder will it ever stop?"
Carr says she's praying it does, so no other mother loses a child.
"Put the guns down," Carr said. "Violence is not the way. Find another way, a positive way."
Police do have a suspect in custody for Quamari's murder, but no charges have been filed yet.
