Present Music of Milwaukee celebrating 34 years

\"Our Stories with Michele\" on the CBS 58 News at 4 p.m. highlights home grown efforts to elevate and inspire the people of our community.

Monday's special live guest was Kevin Stalheim, the founder of \"Present Music.\"

Founded in 1982 here in Milwaukee, it is the leading new music ensemble in the United States.

\"Present Music\" is celebrating its 34th season, with a work titled “LINES.”

It explores the important connection between classical and contemporary works by programming timeless pieces alongside the music of our time.

It includes one of the group's largest ensembles to date performing Mozart and John Adams.

The season also includes  a world premiere commission by 2015 Rome Prize winner, composer Christopher Cerrone, and a solo piano concert featuring ensemble member and 2015 Grammy winner Cory Smythe, rounding out the season with a spring equinox concert and an intriguing event with guest conductor David Bloom in our season finale and party.

\"Present Music\" is also involved in a new community engagement project to compose new music, strengthen Milwaukee’s identity as a creative place to live and work, and promote innovation and imagination.
