Packers look to veterans for fast start to 2015

Media and fans' first glimpse at Packers organized team activities Thursday revealed a veteran-led Packers team focused on starting 2015 strong.

Mike McCarthy said his current group of veterans might be the best he's had during his tenure in Green Bay. And the coaching staff is leaning on those veteran players to accelerate the learning curve for Packers rookies and younger players, all with the idea of being as prepared for the season opener as possible. Slow starts have hampered the Packers the last few seasons.

Jordy Nelson and Casey Hayward are two players who aren't ramping things up just yet. Nelson is recovering from hip surgery and Hayward is still on the mend from a foot injury.

Packers organized team activities continue for the next few weeks, followed by mini-camp beginning June 16th.
