Victory Garden Blitz in Milwaukee

Each year during the Great Milwaukee Victory Garden Blitz, Victory Garden Initiative volunteers install hundreds of raised bed gardens in backyards, front yards, schools, community centers, and places of worship - just about anywhere you can imagine!

It all started with a group of friends in 2009. Together, they installed 35 raised bed gardens in a single day, launching Victory Garden Initiative! 

In 2014,  a record-breaking 548 gardens were constructed in two weeks.

This year's Victory Garden Blitz runs from May 9th to May 23rd.

Gretchen Mead of the Victory Garden Initiative was a special live guest on the CBS 58 News at 4:30 p.m.
