Credit card fraud ring used over 3,800 stolen cards

A federal grand jury indicted four Milwaukee men who are connected to a credit card fraud ring that illegally used over 3,800 stolen credit card numbers to make fraudulent transactions totaling over $1.7 million.

40-year-old Cornelius Mitchell, 40-year-old Kevin Wright, 48-year-old Anthony Turner, and 49-year-old Alonzo Gray are all facing criminal charges for using stolen credit card information to purchase tickets primarily to sporting and entertainment events throughout the United States. The credit card fraud ring would buy tickets, then scalp the tickets purchased with stolen credit card information. The suspects scalped tickets outside of venues like Miller Park, the Bradley Center, the Rave Eagles Club, the Marcus Center, the Pabst Theater, the Riverside Theater, Lambeau Field and Camp Randall Stadium.

The credit card fraud ring also operated in other states including Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, California, Missouri, Utah, Nebraska, Florida, Texas and Maine. Six other men living as far away as Texas have also been indicted in this case.

All four Milwaukee men face a maximum sentence of 17.5 years in prison if convicted.

The United State's Attorney's Office credited the Milwaukee Police Department for helping in their long-term investigation. Milwaukee Police Chief says, \"This investigation is a fine example of alert police work where asking the next questions can lead to the uncovering of more serious crimes and proves there's not such thing as a routine call for service.\"
