MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers organization has confirmed Ryan Braun is not in the line up for their game against the Oakland A's just one day after reports suggest the player may be suspended.

Brewers Manager Ron Roenicke says Bruan is off for the day to rest a thumb injury. He told media Bruan complained his thumb was hurting the day before taking off.

According to ESPN, Major League Baseball will seek to suspend about 20 players connected to the Florida at the heart of an ongoing performance-enhancing drug scandal, including the Brewers' Ryan Braun.

"Outside the Lines" has learned if the suspensions are upheld, the performance-enhancing drug scandal would be the largest in American sports history.

The report also says Braun could be suspended for 100 games - the penalty for a second offense. Major League Baseball would nab Braun, among others, for lying to investigators then being found to have taken PEDs.
