Ryan Braun out of the lineup

MILWAUKEE-- Milwaukee Brewers star outfielder Ryan Braun is out of today's lineup against the Miami Marlins for a recurring injury in his right thumb.

Braun was pulled out of Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies in the third inning after his right thumb flared up again.

The Brewers are set to play a 9-game road trip starting with Marlins Monday where Logan Shafer gets the start in Braun's place.

This has not been a good year for Braun. Through 57 games this season, he is hitting .304/.380/.509 with nine home runs and 36 RBI's. As of Monday it is still unsure if Braun will have to sit out more than one game.
