Green Bay Packers release Charles WoodsonGreen Bay Packers GM Ted Thompson announced the team is releasing defensive back Charles Woodson, a move that would free up $10 million cap space for the team. NFL.com writer Kareem Copeland says Woodson was due $9 million in 2013, goes on to say "He's just not worth that any longer". Woodson's wine company Twenty Four by Charles Woodson posted "Thank you Green Bay, it was a great run!" on Facebook. Woodson first came to the Packers organization in 2006, and went on to start 100 games for the franchise. Thompson said, "We are grateful for all that Charles has given to the Green Bay Packers over the past seven years." Woodson holds franchise records for the most defensive touchdowns, and most interception returns for a touchdown. |
