Report: Driver leaning towards retirement
USA today is reporting that Packers WR Donald Driver could be ready to announce his retirement as early as next week.
Driver told reporters after the Packers NFC Divisional round loss to San Francisco, that he didn't expect the Packers to bring him back for another season. At the time, he said he'd be forced to decide whether to retire, or play somewhere else. If this report is correct, he's chosen the former. Here is an excerpt from that USA Today report by Mike Garafolo: "Following a disappointing season in which he caught eight passes and was inactive for one of the team's two playoff games, Driver is leaning toward retirement, according to a person informed of Driver's thinking on the matter. The person, who spoke to USA TODAY on condition of anonymity because Driver hasn't made a final decision, said an announcement could come as soon as next week." |
