DETROIT - The Lions have parted ways with wide receiver Titus Young, ending one of the NFL's more bizarre player stories of 2012.

Young, a second round pick in 2011 out of Boise State, sucker-punched a teammate during an offseason workout, head-butted an opposing player in the season's opening week, and intentionally lined up in the wrong position multiple times in the Lions' Week 11 loss to the Packers.

Young had recently sent some bizarre tweets, possibly leading to his release Monday.
