Gomez homers, but Brewers lose 5-1

by WDJT Sports

CINCINNATI - Carlos Gomez' first inning home run was a nice start, but the Brewers bats were silent from that point on Sunday against the fresh arm of Johnny Cueto.

Cueto, coming off the DL to start Sunday's game, combined with reliever Alfredo Simon to hold the Brewers scoreless after the first inning as the Reds went on to a 5-1 victory.

The Brewers lost two out of three in Cincinnati. They'll be off Monday before starting a three game series with the Astros in Houston Tuesday.
