Gardner's 26 points lead MU over SyracuseMILWAUKEE - The calendar reads February 25th, but everything about the Marquette-Syracuse game at the BMO Harris Bradley Center felt like March Madness. And if Davante Gardner keeps playing the way he did Monday night, the Golden Eagles are in for a deep ride in the NCAA Tournament. Gardner went 7-7 from the floor and hit 12-13 shots from the free throw line, totalling 26 points in the Golden Eagles 74-71 win over Syracuse Monday night. Marquette found themselves trailing by double digits early in the game, but rallied thanks to Gardner's hot streak and a four point play from Jake Thomas. MU (20-7, 11-4 Big East) plays one more regular season home game Saturday against Notre Dame. Their regular season schedule ends with road games at NortreDame and St. John's. |
