Eagles Riley Cooper Seeks Assistance After Making Racial Slur

by Kelsey Cunniff

PHILADELPHIA— Philadelphia Eagles receiver Riley Cooper started a twister Wednesday when a video surfaced of him using the N-word at a Kenny Chesney concert in June.  Cooper was caught using the racial slur during a confrontation with an African-American security guard after he was denied access backstage.

Cooper held a press conference where he apologized for his actions and was fined an undisclosed amount of money. He acknowledged that he was drinking and added that it was no excuse for what he said or did.

Cooper also addressed his teammates Wednesday night where he apologized to them after practice.

Cooper is now being sent for sensitivity training and counseling the team announced today.  He is being sent to training to fully understand the impact of his words and actions, giving him time to reflect.

The NFL isn’t expected to take any disciplinary action.
