Brewers lose to Pirates, lose Hart for the season
After finding out first baseman Corey Hart would miss the rest of the regular season with an injured left knee, the Milwaukee Brewers lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 10-3 Friday night in Pittsburgh.
Making his first start, Brewers rookie pitcher Johnny Hellweg gave up seven runs - all in the second inning. That negated a 3-0 Brewer lead after the first inning.
Before the game, manager Ron Roenicke confirmed that Hart would need surgery on his left knee while rehabbing his right knee.
Originally expected to be back before the All-Star break, Hart, 31, will be a free agent after this season.
