Brewers lose first game of road trip 4-3

The Milwaukee Brewers lost their seventh game in eight tries, falling to the Cincinnati Reds 4-3 Friday night.

Brewers pitcher Yovani Gallardo lasted just four innings, giving up three runs and five walks in his second loss of the year.

Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips ended the top of the seventh inning with a 4-3 double-play while throwing on his knees and tagging second base. He then hit a home run off Michael Gonzalez in the bottom half for the deciding run.

The second game of the series is Saturday, May 11 at 3:10 pm CST.
