Sandra Torres is a bilingual journalist who joined the CBS 58 News Team in June of 2012. She currently reports for CBS 58 News and Co-Anchors Telemundo Wisconsin.
Before coming to Milwaukee, Sandra worked as a journalist in front of the camera and behind the scenes in Chicago.
In 2007, she joined NBC-owned Telemundo Chicago (WSNS-TV) where she worked as a General Assignment Reporter, Weather Anchor, Producer, and Writer. Three years later, she joined Telemundo’s sister station, WMAQ-TV, as a Content Producer.
Sandra began her career in Broadcast Journalism in 2006, after graduating from Illinois State University with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication and a minor in Spanish. As a student, she developed her broadcasting skills as a Photographer, Reporter and Anchor for TV-10 News. Shortly after, Sandra made her first on-air appearance as an intern reporter for WMBD-TV, the CBS affiliate in Peoria, IL.
Sandra was born and raised in Colombia, but moved to the United States with her family in 1997. She’s fully bilingual, very proud of her culture and extremely passionate about issues that relate to the Hispanic community.
In her spare time, Sandra loves running, traveling and spending time with her family.
