An English language anchor and reporter in the states for much of his 18 years in news, Carlos made the transition to anchoring the nightly Telemundo Wisconsin newscast and reporting for CBS 58 after spending time with the world respected RCN TV network in Bogota, Colombia.
Among his most memorable moments: flying with the elite Navy Blue Angels, interviewing President’s George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter, and a personal invitation by Mexico’s government for an inside look at the war on drugs, which resulted in a net seizure of 18 tons of marijuana and two tons of cocaine.
News, and being in front of the camera are in Carlos’ blood: His cousin was a network news anchor and news director.
Although anchoring the news in either language is where Carlos shines, his reporting style is often used as an example by news director’s around the country on how to “show and tell” during a live report.
Carlos was recently recognized with an award by the Wisconsin Broadcaster’s Association for his reporting.
A native of South Florida, Carlos’ career has taken him from producing in New York City, shooting news in Maryland and Georgia, to reporting and anchoring for stations in Texas, California, and Virginia…to Miami and now Milwaukee.
