Wild spring weather on tap into next week

We should never be surprised by what Mother Nature decides to throw at us when it is spring! The next week, we could see everything from wintry weather, 70s and 80s, and severe weather.

Let’s start with the winter weather; there’s a chance for a mix later this evening and for early parts of tonight around an area of low pressure. It will likely just be a brief bout of sleet or a few snowflakes, but nonetheless, something to watch. This will likely only impact our northern areas. The weekend will feature temps around 50 on Saturday, then nearing 60 on Sunday.

Next week ushers in the start of spring. The warmest air of the season is expected with temperatures ramping up in the 70s, even 80s. Typically, our first 70 degree high takes place April 7th, and the first 80 degree high is May 4th. The first 70 degree high last year was February 22nd at 71 degrees. The first 80 degree high in 2017 took place April 15th at 82. This year on April 15th it was 34 degrees and we received 3.2” of snowfall. This is how nuts the spring of 2018 has been.

Well, the 70s and 80s will be ushered in with the threat of showers and t’storms. It looks to be the first widespread chance for severe weather for a number of areas next week, including Wisconsin. We will be watching this closely!
