West Bend Police make 10 OWI arrests over Thanksgiving week

WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The West Bend Police Department made 10 arrests for OWI between Tuesday, November 21 and Sunday, November 26. 

It all started Tuesday evening. A West Bend Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver, a 16-year-old female from Fond du Lac, showed signs of impairment and admitted to smoking Marijuana. She was arrested for OWI and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

On Wednesday, officers made three OWI arrests. The first woman was arrested shortly after 3 a.m. when a caller to report that a vehicle was parked over a curb and the driver was "passed out." Later that evening, another woman was arrested for 'OWI with a Minor Child as a Passenger' after police discovered she had her 15-year-old child in the car.

On Thursday, officers made two OWI arrests. Shortly after midnight on Thursday, A 17-year-old man from Kewaskum showed signs of impairment, admitted to smoking Marijuana, and failed standardized sobriety tests. He was arrested for OWI and Possession of Marijuana. Also on Thursday, officers arrested a 50-year-old man who crashed his car into two shopping cart corrals and then struck an unoccupied parked vehicle at the Walmart in West Bend. 

On Saturday, officers arrested two men in two separate incidents. Around 7 p.m., officers responded to a collision in the 100 block of E. Paradise Drive. A 23-year-old man was arrested for OWI after he was turning left into the parking lot and struck an oncoming vehicle.

On Sunday, officers arrested a West Bend man who was driving the wrong way on a one-way street around bar close. Later that morning, officers arrested a 40-year-old West Bend man who struck an unoccupied vehicle.
