West Bend Police: 73-year-old man arrested for 8th OWI, peeing on police department floor

WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) – A 73-year-old West Bend man is arrested for his 8th OWI and disorderly conduct after police say they he was drinking while behind the wheel and intentionally peed on the floor of the police department.

West Bend Police, say someone called police around 4:45 Wednesday afternoon saying they saw someone drinking a beer while driving away from a business on South Main Street. Police saw the vehicle heading northbound and stopped the vehicle at N. Main and High Street.

The officer reported that when he came up to the vehicle the driver identified himself and gave his ID. The officer also smelled a strong odor of intoxicants and said the driver appeared to be intoxicated.

The man reportedly refused to get out of his vehicle and drove away, reaching about 45 to 50 mph before stopping in the area of Barton Avenue and Skyline Drive. He was later arrested for his eighth offense OWI, eluding an officer, open intoxicants in a motor vehicle, and violating conditions of his probation.

Police said while he was in custody he intentionally peed on the floor of the booking room. The officer said a charge of disorderly conduct was added.
