West Allis School Board to Vote on Employee, Retiree Health Clinic

The West Allis School Board will soon vote on whether to open a medical clinic for employees and retirees.

The clinic would offer free prescriptions and routine medical lab tests.

The West Allis School District officials say this wouldn't just save them cash it would encourage employees to stay healthy by offering more resources.

It's something that's already being tried in other local districts.

“We have a large workforce, probably 12, 13 hundred and a large amount of retirees so our health plan is pretty extensive  and I thought it could be a great to help our wellness program w/ such a large pop,” said Andrew Chromy/ Director of Business Services/West Allis Milwaukee School District.

The clinic location would be here at 9333 West National Avenue, the old school administration building.

The proposed West Allis Clinic would not be mandatory.

School district employees would have the option of keeping their primary care physician.

The board will vote on May 23.
