The city of West Allis is making it easier for homeowners hoping to remodel or families looking to build.
The Building Inspection and Neighborhood Services Department just joined Houzz, a popular online community focused on architecture, decorating, landscape design, and home improvement.
West Allis now has a specific page on Houzz. People can get information about building codes and permits for their next home remodeling project. Users can also check out pictures of current projects in West Allis and read stories about projects around southeastern Wisconsin.
“Houzz is a powerful platform for homeowners and home professionals to communicate and collaborate with each other. Expanded access to city information and improved communication with residents and businesses directly aligns with the City’s 2017-2021 Strategic Plan,” Common Council President Thomas Lajsic said.
The Houzz profile is designed to allow the Building Inspection and Neighborhood Services Department to engage with families earlier in the building stages and stay engaged with them once their project is complete.
“Having a presence on Houzz enables us to better serve West Allis residents by providing the information they need to facilitate the home building and construction process,” Lajsic said.
