Wellness Triathlon Takes Place at Nicolet High School

The annual Wellness Triathlon too place at Nicolet High School in Glendale.

Students in adaptive physical education are paired with a Nicolet student to compete in bicycling, running and swimming.

Huge crowds gathered to see for themselves those tender moments when gentle encouragement from a peer can give a that much needed boost to complete a race and gain some self-esteem.

“The parents get to see their kids in school environment and see what an integral part the Special Education students are to our school,” said Lyn Deiss, Wellness Teacher.

Laura started the program a couple of years back with stationary bikes and a couple of laps.

It has grown into a huge community building experience.

It has also proven to be high effective in motivating students to get in shape with positive recognition.
