Many of us here at CBS 58 News and our viewers came to know Lt. Sebastian Raclaw for his brave battle against a rare form of cancer.

He defied many of the predictions and lived several years beyond his diagnosis.

Through all of his health struggles, he was always mindful of serving the community. Lt. Raclaw and his family would often campaign for blood donations.

His family also established a research fund in his name: The Sebastian Raclaw Abdominal Cancer Fund through the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Just this past summer, many CBS 58 viewers answered the call to help his family and turned out for the Krueger Kickball Classic.

The annual fundraiser at O'Brien's Pub was originally for Andy Krueger, a cancer survivor who decided to pay it forward and dedicate proceeds to others battling the illness. The event was well-attended and dubbed the "Rally for Raclaw." Lt. Raclaw's wife was able to attend. and he wanted to be there but had suffered a setback.

Lt. Raclaw passed away this past Saturday.

We extend our condolences to his family and thank Lt. Raclaw for his years of service to the City of Milwaukee.
