Unseasonably cool pattern continues

The last several days, in fact, the last couple of weeks have felt more like fall across southeastern Wisconsin.  The Memorial Day weekend was the last time we had summer-like temperatures, and that was two weeks ago!

Take a look at the graphic above.  The position of that surface low has burned us recently.  That low is like a vacuum.  It draws in warm air from the south and colder air from the north.  If that low isn't far enough north, our winds remain out of the east, and we get the natural cooling from lake Michigan.  Also being north of the stationary boundary keeps the clouds and chances for showers across our area.

Later in the weekend our winds will turn southerly, and we will be close to 90 degrees by Sunday!
