Two vehicle crash in Dane County leaves one dead, one seriously injured

DANE COUNTY, WIs. (CBS 58) -- One person is dead and another seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash in the Town of Cross Plains on Friday.

A concerned citizen called 911 shortly before 3 p.m. after witnessing a 2003 Ford Taurus driving erratically all over the road. Shortly after, the driver of the Ford Taurus crossed over the centerline and was struck by a southbound 2011 Toyota Prius just south of Stagecoach Road.

The male driver of the Taurus was transported by Flight for Life to a Madison area hospital where he later died. His female passenger was also taken to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The driver and passenger of the Prius were taken to a local hospital for treatment of what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
