Two teens injured in Sunday morning crash in Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Two teens were injured in a car crash in Mount Pleasant Sunday morning. According to Mount Pleasant Police, a car driven by an 18-year-old person from Racine was east on Spring Street near Emmertsen Road when the driver lost control of the car on the slippery street, left the road and collided with a power pole.

First responders had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate the driver from the car.

Flight for Life was called, but because of weather conditions, was unable to fly.

Both the driver and a 16-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital for injuries.

According to police, the driver was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
