Milwaukee County honors transit system employees
The Milwaukee Police Department has announced arrests in connection with the homicide of a 6-year-old boy.
Two persons of interest have been arrested in connection with the July 22 homicide of 6-year-old Justin Evans in the 3600 block of N. 23rd Street.
A 23-year-old man was arrested in Milwaukee and a 32-year-old man was arrested in Chicago.
Justin Evans was shot outside of his grandma's house. He was saying goodbye to his mother before a fishing trip.
"I can't take it. I watched my nephew take his last breaths. I was right there when he got shot. That's not nothing you want to see. We had to sit there and watch him. Just laying on that porch. Just laying in his own blood. Just lying on that porch just looking at me like help and I couldn't help him," said Justin's aunt Jasmine Jones.
Milwaukee Police said they are confident they will be able to bring charges soon.
The investigation remains ongoing and police continue to ask witnesses with information about the shooting to call 414-935-7360.
