Two dead as car collides with bus in Rock County Saturday

JANESVILLE, WI (CBS 58) -- Two people are dead following the head-on collision of a car and a bus in Rock County Saturday night.   The Rock County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol are investigating the collision that  happened just after 8 PM Saturday on East County Highway N, about six miles west of Whitewater.

According to the Rock County Sheriff,  an east bound Honda Civic driven by a 20-year-old Waterford woman cross the center line of Highway N and collided head-on with a west bound chartered bus.   The woman and her passenger, a 22-year-old man from Whitewater, were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.   The 64-year-old driver of the bus  and his 19 passengers were not injured.  The bus was chartered out of Bloomington, Minnesota.

The highway was closed  for over five hours as the accident was investigated by Sheriff's Deputies and the State Patrol.   According to the Sheriff’s Office, no criminal or traffic charges are anticipated at this time.
