Trash Fire at Fond du Lac High School Prompts Evacuation

On Tuesday, November 15 at 1:50 PM Fond du Lac Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at Fond du Lac High School. While responding Dispatch advised the firefighters that a call from the school reported a fire in a second floor men’s bathroom.  

The building was evacuated and the fire was extinguished by a quick thinking staff member but not before the fire destroyed a plastic trash container affixed to the bathroom wall. 

The fire created a significant amount of smoke throughout the hallways which had to be cleared by firefighters before students and staff were able to re-enter the school. 

I took about one hour before students and staff were allowed back inside the school.

The cause of the fire is being investigated. No injuries were reported.
