Traffic stop leads to drug bust in Mount Pleasant

A 28-year-old Racine man faces three felony drug charges following a traffic stop in Mount Pleasant Thursday afternoon.   According to the Mount Pleasant Police news release, Cody Peacock was found with 183 grams of marijuana, nine grams of cocaine, about $1,000 in cash and a semiautomatic handgun during a traffic stop around 4:20 PM on Sunnyslope Drive in Mount Pleasant.

A Mount Pleasant Police office observed the vehicle driven by Peacock traveling at a high rate of speed.  After stopping the vehicle and while talking with the driver and a passenger, the officer could smell the strong odor of marijuana.  That is when the contraband was discovered. 

Peacock was arrested and taken to the Racine County Jail. He is being held on charges of:

Felony Possession with intent to deliver marijuana

Felony Possession with intent to deliver Cocaine

Felon in possession of a Firearm

Probation and Parole Hold

The passenger of the vehicle was released without charges.
