The Secretary of State Hillary Clinton went to the U.S. Capitol for her long awaited testimony about the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. Several republican senators including Wisconsin senator Ron Johnson wasted no time calling out Clinton’s state department and the administration for what they call misinformation on the attack.
Secretary Clinton fought back saying “with all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. [W]hether because of a protest, or whether because of guys out for a walk one night and decided they'd go kill some Americans. What difference at this point does it make?"

Arizona Senator John McCain took issue with that statement saying it mattered because “[I]f the classified information had been included, it gives an entirely different version of events to the American people.”

Senator Johnson went on CNN to talk about the dustup saying "I was surprised by Secretary Clinton’s reaction to that. It was a pretty simple question. All I was wondering is why didn't she just call the evacuees. Was there a protest or wasn't there a protest that information could have been easily obtained within a day or two and we wouldn't have to go through these weeks of misinformation."

Clinton said there was no deliberate attempt at misinformation or cover-up but she acknowledged the buck stops with her.
