WE Energies equipment failure causes large power outage

MILWAUKEE --- Nearly 8,000 people were left without power after there was an equipment failure in a WE Energies substation Friday evening.

The outage happened around 4:40 p.m. and caused some major traffic backups in the Marquette Interchange area.

WE Energies crews worked for hours to restore the power. All power was restored by about 9:00 p.m.
