Chemical plant explosion

SHEBOYGAN --- A chemical plant in Sheboygan went up in flames early Sunday morning after a hazardous explosion.

The Sheboygan Fire Department responded to Hexion Specialty Chemicals around 4:45 a.m. By time fire crews arrived, the explosion had extinguished itself.

Firefighters shut down the plant to check for any chemical leaks as a precaution.

Officials say the explosion caused around $25,000 in damage.

There was one worker in the plant at the time of the explosion but no one was hurt.

Fire crews are working to determine the cause of the explosion.
