Rally to recall Governor Walker
MADISON--An estimated 25,000-30,000 people marched at the State Capitol in an effort to recall Governor Scott Walker.
Hundreds of people collected signatures for the recall effort. More than 540,000 signatures are needed by mid January in order to make a recall election happen. United Wisconsin a group joining in the recall efforts said that as of Friday night they had collected more than 105,000 signatures. That’s almost 20 percent of what the group needs. They were outnumbered at the rally, but some Walker supporters did show up to show their support for the governor. They said they might not rally but they have strength in numbers as well. Both sides continue to stand their ground. But at the rally protestors remained optimistic that they could force a recall and get the governor out of office. |
