Protestors support President's plan for job creation
MILWAUKEE -- When the President asked for help to pass his jobs bill, dozens of local residents said they had to do something.
Their answers were to gather on the North Avenue Bridge, as visible a spot as possible, to urge others to support the plan that would rely heavily on construct and bridge repair projects to generate jobs. Citizen Action of Wisconsin, part of a grassroots effort that first gained a lot of attention over its mobilization of support for President Obama's health care reform law. "We're here to say, Congress stop blocking. We need action. Wisconsin is in desparate need of jobs and we're not going to have a vibrant economy unless people have money in their pockets and they're spending it," said Robert Kraig, a member of Citizen Action Wisconsin. |

Flip, as far as business sense and republicans are concerned, tell me how giving PERMANENT TAX CUTS to the rich is good business sense?? How did that HELP OUR COUNTRY?? The jobs moved to China -- along with our tax money -- and now China businesses with American names will continue to receive tax credits FOREVER because of laws created by republicans like Ryan. Where is the incentive here to move jobs BACK? Just keep handing money out to the rich? Who do republicans really work for? China?? These are UN American laws and don't promote the growth of new businesses in our country. The GOP laws created economic growth in other countries with the lie of promoting prosperity here at home. Ryan went around the country with his 'path to prosperity speech' -- that's just 'voodoo economics' (ask any college econ Prof.) Obviously, republicans don't want to reinvest in my great country, and that's why they don't pay taxes. We need honest people, not puppet-masters, in office. right flip??

Barbee asked where Obama monies have gone-it's really our taxpayer money. How about half billion to Solyndra who filed bankruptcy but paid their donors-leaving taxpayers on hook. Then 1.2 billion went to Sun Company and they've hired 15 employees and look like their on the rocks. He also gave Fisher (car co. from Finland) half a billion to produce an electric car that costs $100K. The prototype was given to Leonardo DiCaprio as a gift by Obama as he is one of Obama's biggest donors. Those are the ones I like to share with the Left, but you can trace the money trail on numerous websites-it'll make your head spin. Obama-more of the same with no change!

Cazie, I wrote Ryan a letter awhile back, after I had listened to one of his live call/ question and answer sessions. I was outraged. The elderly were literally begging him for answers to their nightmarish medication bills. It was sickening -- but Ryan seemed to enjoy the power of it all. That's why I wrote him. His answer to their problems? Ryan told them to cut back on other things so they could afford their thousand dollar a month pharmaceutical bills. I wrote and asked him why he supported the pharmaceuticals over the people and reminded him of the record profits these companies enjoy. Record amounts of money made without paying taxes. Ryan VOTES to protect the health giants and pharmaceuticals. He wrote me back and said pharmaceuticals don't make enough money. This kind of irresponsible government has got to stop. Ryan is making fraudulent statements to people about companies that support his campaign. He supports unfair laws aimed at eliminating the middle class wealth.

Flip, in answer to your other question on another blog; Flip, Thank you for the compliment, I SHOULD work for the democratic party. After all, our country is still a 'Democracy', isn't it? We need to be responsible, right? Isn't it still supposed to represent the 'common people', as opposed to the enrichment of a greedy, select few? LOL. Maybe I could work for them somehow -- volunteer my time and energy. Thanks Flip.

People like you need to tell me why handouts, bailouts, free money, tax credits, tax breaks, insider trading and bribery are the keys to 'bailing out' America. The republican way. This 'free ride' has only led to more greed and expectations of even more credits, bailouts, and favors. People HERE need to work HERE, create businesses HERE, and pay their fair share. The 'free ride' billionaire community offers no new opportunities, jobs, or hope for real Americans -- instead, it's weakened our country with mistrust and false hope. My definition of Obama's plan is that it needs no definition -- it's written in English and available to the public to 'define', if that's even an applicable word to describe 'understanding.' It's a step in the right direction. Go and read Obama's 'job bill' yourself, all 300 pages of it, and answer your own stupid question.

All I asked was a fairly simple question and what the response was is same old blame everyone else. You seem to forget that the Democrats had control of both the Senate and Congress during the last three years of Bush's second term. Now you should remember from your government class in high school, assuming you went to high school, that the legislative branch of government has the authority to spend money. So this constant blaming Bush is really getting old. Oh one other thing you still haven't answered the question. Put down the KOOLAID and quit repeating same old BS.
75471018BarbBee said on Monday, Oct 17 at 8:08 PM
Yeh, Obama had it easy. Right. Just a few months before he took office, a near decade of free reign, Bush backed, Republican/Wall Street corruption, conniving, and deception forced our country into near bankruptcy, economic chaos, and a pending Depression we could barely comprehend. Polls don't lie: Americans were disgusted and fed up with the greed and lawless behavior of corporations and phony government representation then. Obama is trying to bring pride, respect AND JOBS back to a country easily headed for third world status and abandoned by those -- like you -- who refuse to see what's right before your eyes. Go back four years, go back further and remember how Reagan ended any hope of America 'making things' anymore, or regulating corruption in business world wide. Obama is trying. Obama cares. Wake up. Obama made 4 mil last year? Gee, that's a weekend bonus to most CEOs in this country -- that's nothing compared to the Bush fortune while in office, or Wall Street rats.

BarbBee ..I have a simple question for you. What is your definition of Obama's stimulus program. And would you, in your own words, please explain where that trillion dollars was spent. I'm interested to see if you understand where all that money went or is going. You might also like to know that billions of dollars are going to Mexico to build solar panels to a company that is owned by an American that is and has been a major financial supporter of Obama. Oh one other thing Obama made over 7.5 million last year on a salary of $425,000 as president. Can you explain that.

Stop with the cut and paste-can't you think of anything else to say? I know corporate America is full of greed, so are many areas of life. Taking what's not yours or what you didn't earn is greed too-see, it starts at the most basic level and then balloons into some of the things your'e speaking to. But isn't all greed big or small wrong? Because someone steals a cicycle instead of $10K is it still not theft? And all bad laws were made by Repubs? You're hatred makes you blind to the truth. Both parties have done good and bad-but that's why I'm TEA paraty-again you hate us, but we want our Constitution abided by as written, less government intrusion and less taxation.I take offense to you calling me a crook, but that's your anger-I don't steal and I definitely can't be bought either, So on that point we agree.

Cazie, if you think poor, uneducated minorities are the cause of Wisconsin's problems, just think about what educated white people do. You get the same old news week after week: how black people out smart the system. But, you hear nothing about how the CEOs, banks, and corporations are robbing Wisconsin blind. You don't see it because you think what, that poor, uneducated inner city people are the only criminals? You can take whatever they cost or steal and multiply it by a million, and that's what republicans cost taxpayers. And, sadly, they KNOW better, they're not ALL drop outs like our governor. They're 'yes' men; un-American back door cowards without honor or pride. Republicans make laws aimed at stealing from you and me. Republicans can kiss my royal a.s.s. And if any tea member comes near me, my foot will go where the sun don't shine. People like me, people with honor, would never support the likes of crooks like you. I don't steal, and I can't be bought.

I think Lena Taylor was way off base telling folks to boycott businesses hiring WI. workers just because they support a balanced budget.TEA party doesn't agree with the extreme borrowing from China-again, where do you get these ideas? If you have a chance, you should come to a rally-you'd see these aren't rich folks-just share certain values:hard work, frugality, decency-what's wrong with that?

The republican politicians think they have a RIGHT to MY MONEY and pass laws to take my money give it to companies that support Chinese labor. MY TAX DOLLAR will not create jobs for slaves anymore. If republicans don't want to support America, get out -- and take your commie Chinese junk companies with you. Let the Chinese government give these businesses tax credits, cuts, hand-outs and bail-outs. As far as the tea party -- republican politicians that support my tax dollar going into creating jobs in China -- go get a job in China and let them pay your wages and Cadillac benefits. I'm PROUD TO BE AMERICAN AND SUPPORT MY COUNTRY WITH MY HARD EARNED TAX MONEY. The rest of you freeloaders can leave.

So-you were happier with the wealthy when government got to confiscate more of their money, but by your statement you begrudged them their lifestyle. I grew up poor, but don't begrudge anyone. Money doesn't buy love or happiness, as I've known very wealthy people. Where do you get this idea that a total stranger has a responsibility for them? You must be a younger person with starry eyed idealism that doesn't usually work in the real world. I am all for closing loopholes so that big business pays what they owe, but don't believe they need to pay increasiningly more to sustain the lifestyles of those who have illigitimate children one after the other. Again-the needy will always be taken care of-bad behavior and irresponsibilty need not be supported. I should have a say in how money taken from me (taxes) is spent. I've been through neighborhoods of the welfare fecipients-why do they have big flat screen TV's? I don't. Why do they get free cell phones-I have a tracphone.

I grew up in a blue collar neighborhood, my parents didn't go to college, but they had good jobs that paid for a roof over our head, a car, a vacation every year and a wonderful childhood for me. Like you Cazie, my relatives fought and died in the wars. We all paid taxes, and life was good. More to the point, the RICH paid taxes too -- big time taxes. And we all knew where they lived and HOW they lived. And they lived fine; they had mansions, expensive cars, and their kids went to the best schools. Large income taxes did not burden them. But, they were not content with just being wealthy. They stared wanting more, and more, and more. So, today, by totally avoiding the responsibility of paying back the country that gave them the opportunity to accumulate billions, the burden of keeping the country afloat -- and supporting the greed of so-called 'American businessmen' -- falls on the lower middle class and the poor. Now, the 95% with nothing support the 5% who own everything.

Barbee just cuts and pastes her articles everywhere I've posted. The melting pot of old were immigrants who worked their fingers to the bone. All my grandparents were those immigrants, but never took from the system or expected to take from those who had more. Where did you learn it was okay to take something from someone else-take something you didn't earn yourself. The only folks getting hand outs should be those that have actual disabilities-not people who continually make bad choices and keep repeating the same behavior. You have no say as to what business does, unless you have created that business-Again, you talk like a communist. I'll say it for the 20th time. TEA party wants less government intrusion, less taxes for all, and our elected officials to abide by the Constitution as written and intended by our founders. If you aren't TEA Party, then don't speak for us!

Cazie, Where are the jobs Bush promised? Did you know Bush funneled trillions overseas to cover Wall-Street a.s.s. And still, it didn't work. Bush didn't help Americans keep their jobs. He 'funneled' money out and gave it away, rewarding anyone who hired 3rd world laborers. It's the republican way, isn't it? Help yourself and your friends while you rob less fortunate American workers; and what do you call that? It's Treason. The tea party -- republicans all -- want America to fail! Republicans represent people who don't pay taxes, they don't support or invest in American like I do. So who DO they represent and support? What Country? By the way, our country is a melting pot and is made up of many different political, economic and social ideologies -- the American tradition is to find the best parts and make our own way. If you don't like freedom, maybe you should move to China, and be a slave to an 'American' sham and facade. Maybe you could work for 'phony' GE?

Barbee how are union workers much different? You vote yourselves perks and bennies far greater than the private sector and stick it to the taxpayer. People get overtime pay just for carrying a pager whether they're called or not, MPS teachers voted themselves a 2nd pension, bus drivers in Madison making $160K a year. I'd say unions were greedy too, and if they could they'd have given themselves more. You don't get it-we don't want Obama's socialist/communist policies. This is the U.S. if you want government subsidies move to Greece-you see what it's doing there.

Handouts, bailouts, free money Tax credits, etc., etc., etc. The republican way. This 'free ride' has only led to more greed and expectations of even more credits, bailouts, and 'favors.' In stead of APPRECIATION. People have to work and have goals and pay their fair share -- or they end up a blight on the taxpayers. Business needs to step up to the plate, their 'free ride' status has not led to their creating any new opportunities, jobs, or hope. Their 'free ride' status has actually had the opposite affect, and weakened our country with mistrust and false hope. Free rides to the rich bring recessions to us.

Flip has an axe to grind like Walker, and that will interfere with good judgement. That's the reason we will be getting a new governor. Just like a bad employee in any business, you need to get rid of them to make the business run better and be more profitable. Crazie is so far off she or he won't even register in the teabagger ranks, even those nut jobs will give him or her a wide gape. The polls show how much Walker has lost in his own base, the money he has cost Wisconsin in recalls and recounts and lawsuits not to mention the issue of teachers or the cronyism payouts , is so far over 600million dollars and he hasn't been in office long enough to be that destructive. He isn't even close to a balanced budget. Moving the money around is what they do and buffoons like you and Flip will always bite at anything that will make you think you've earned your welfare checks. If that is the direction your going in I really pity you.

Air traffic controllers endorsed Reagan, he promised he would address many of their issues for their support. They were part of the AFL/CIO, who didn't want anything to do with Reagan for obvious reasons. Instead Reagan reneged on every point he had agreed to help this group with. When they called him on it, he told them to bad. That group of workers was used to show other companies how to break the unions. I've been burned by unions and I've been saved by them. I was a representative sent to the UAW Convention. I represented our local, which means I voted for things that our local wanted not what the union wanted. Your voice isn't going to carry much weight alone in today's society, that's why the recalls worked so well and the republicans are scrambling to get rid of recalls. We don't want to hear how we should do with less while your representatives go on vacation to California all expenses paid for by who ever still has a job. Yet it's ok for the wealthy republican ceo's to hold back the economy and jobs because they think it is ok to blackmail this country into giving them the money president of their choice, not ours. We will have jobs after the 2012 elections. That is called blackmail my friends. I think it has become time for change. Even Reagan's son condemns this tactic by the republican party.

Also in the private sector you can bargain with the employer. In state's case the taxpayer is your employer, yet has no say because they endorse Dems who vote in their interest-not the taxpayer. I get the flyers-I've never seen unions endorse a Repub. So it's not like your Costco analogy. Also, the union members didn't rejoin in the numbers you said they would-you forget I'm union. Why would many want money taken out for political endorsements of those that don't have same values? We were never given a choice not to pay, only a choice not to be involved-but they still took the money. Unions are using you-they want your money.

At the lakefront Tea Party event there were close to 10,000-look up the pictures. The difference was respect of property by TEA, whereas union protestors showed blatant disrespect. When I attended the Palin event the union folk refused to allow free speech-I was at the dividing line surrounded by horn, drum and whistle blowing. I asked those around me why they wouldn't want to hear what was being said in order for them to dispute-my answer was the drummer sticking out his tongue. Like I state, unions and the Left only want to allow their voices to be heard. You guys love to skew the facts.

So 1917 and 1930 are the years you want this country to protect itself from. Those were different times to compare the 2nd amendment to and not very good times to relate human progress. Come back to the year 2011 and start there. Next prove your argument as to why carrying guns is going to stop the swat team from putting down a revolt that you feel is justified. In other countries they have shot people who protested like they did in Madison. Based on your argument you must be saying that you have the right to carry a gun because the government may try and control you maliciously. NOW Present day, instant mass communication, psychological propaganda, Millions and millions of dollars behind their malicious control- versus each citizen with his or her middle-class income, trying to be heard, much less make a difference. Don't need guns just campaign reform, and honest politicians. Instead we are stuck choosing the best of the worst and arguing about it. It's 2011- try and relate!
74362999To Cazie said on Monday, Sep 26 at 8:02 AM
The difference was there weren't more than 10 of you so how much mess you going to leave. How much impact is a small group versus the thousands who protest in Madison. Hopefully I can explain how wrong you are very simply. Just as it isn't up to me to tell you that you can not shop at Costco, I don't have the right to tell you you can't join a union. As a consumer you will make the decision yourself. Republicans say they are for less government but at every turn they keep invading our lives. The unions in Milwaukee negotiated their contracts. Just because Milwaukee had an inexperienced negotiator who didn't know his limitations and was embarrassed, you don't allow his revenge to corrupt a whole society and group of people. Make no mistake, Walker is as big of a jerk as what he has shown himself to be. If we allow it to continue, we are no better then Germany was before WWII. The Tea Party as with the Republicans had some good ideas at first, they don't care about being fiscal now

The Gov. isn't above the law-I'm stating what I believe to be the underlying cause of all the out-of-state and Federal involvement. It's the unions, Dems and Obama. To deny that all this doesn't stem from Act 10 being passed is untruthful on the part of union members blogging here. You're loosing ground with voters, as they're becoming more aware of the lavish bennies we have without paying for any of it until Act 10.I'm sickened by the constant harrassment of Republicans and would feel the same if people were doing it to Dems. The TEA party event at the lakefront vs. the Capitol chaos tells the story. When we left the lakefront there was no garbage and no disruption with the exception of a Lefties attacking someone who'd filmed their behavior. So until you act like respectful humans, you won't be recognized as such. I say keep up your nasty rhetoric and behavior, you just make the point of those wanting free speech for all-you folks think only your voice should be heard.

Flip, you should fight for America, stand tall and proud for justice. I've been all over since Walker started his new 'Jerry Springer' kind of governing, and every time I saw a Republican they were 'running out the back door'. Paul Ryan -- I believe it was Oak Creek -- had the cops out front ruffing up old guys who walked with walkers and canes. The whole crowd averaged 70 years old. Of course, Ryan ran in the back door and almost had some old guy arrested for walking up to his car. It was caught on TV and Ryan made light of the whole thing, but it's not funny. The old man was frustrated with the cost of insurance and pharmaceuticals he can't afford, and wanting Ryan to help him because it's the right thing to do. However, like most republicans, Ryan has his own agenda, and votes to PROTECT the health insurance giants, his real bosses. Ryan's wish is that my wealth doesn't go to my children, but to overpriced health care if I chose to live.

The million/billionaires who don't pay taxes and the politicians they hire should be looked at very closely. How many tea party members are in Washington, and is that why they won't do their jobs? Republicans write laws to help these un-American companies NOT pay any taxes and NOT employ Americans. It's really a different company, using different labor in another country, but still holds the American name. Why does the tea party want to protect them? What companies are being protected, and what people? If you don't pay your taxes, you don't support America. So who do republicans work for? Our country is dying, so why won't republicans do their jobs?

To bad you don't understand the way this works. All the track work would be contracted out to a out of state company. None of the money spent on the road bed would stay in the state. Train and engine crews already are working for the railroad that would be running the trains. No real gain in jobs there and because the ridership would be so low the state would be on the hook to keep this failure running at about 7 million a year. This project would be a dead end money pit. As far as the equipment all the train sets would have been built in Milwaukee and as soon as all the sets were built that active would end. Read the fine print before you jump on the bandwagon. If there was money to be made by these trains the railroads would be running them right now.

First off the TEA party was formed by the Koch Bros. foundation to protect billionaires not the working class. Paul Ryan, Walker, Cantor, Ribble and Johnson do NOT care about YOU. Their agenda is Wallstreet First, Mainstreet last. They all promise jobs but have done nothing but shut down the government

TEA party wants the Government to abide by the Constitution as written-not a living breathing document as Oabama wants it to be. Why don't you research what happened to counties cities that have high speed train-with even bigger populations than we have, they're a failure burdent to taxpayers. We're finally starting to recoup from the damagaes caused by the tax spend Dems Doyle-who wanted a train produced offshore in Spain. Wake up Lefties-your policies don't work-they just burden further taxpayers.

Well how long did it take you to do all that mess cleaning. Did you milk it out like all the other republitards do. lol At least you finally got a job you can handle, cleaning the streets after the walker protests and recalls. LOL ME, you are the best at being easy, if your janitor job gets cut by Walker, I'll get you a job downtown Milwaukee as clown for the kids. You low IQ intellect will be a perfect match for the 6 and under crowd at the museum.(Plus you make good people appreciated) No thanks needed, I am glad to help someone like you and I also enjoy pointing out your strong points. lol

Your really hooked on that ghost train. That's all that would be riding it. Its to bad that everyone screaming we needed a train don't understand how it really works. This project would not have added one job because they are already in the system. By the way inorder to save any fuel every seat in every railcar would have to be filled on every trip. Check it out for yourself, open your eyes first and get off the KOOLAID!
