SAUK CO. --- The Sauk County Sheriff's Department is asking the public's help in finding a missing woman and her child. Police say they have reason to believe the 20-year-old woman may be fleeing to Mexico or Uruguay with her 3-year-old son.

Maria Jose Mendieta had custody of her son Leonelly Gabriel Barron on Feb. 20th. Court order says the child should have been returned to his father on Tuesday Feb. 26th at 4:00 p.m. but Mendieta never showed up.

Leonelly "Leo" Garbiel Barron is about 2' 7" and weights about 35 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Sauk Co. Police are asking anyone with information about the mother and child's whereabouts to call the Sauk Co. Sheriff's Department at 800-377-1195.
