MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating the shooting deaths of a 39-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man on the 4300 block of S. 5th St. Police say both the man and woman both lived together in a south side home.

A neighbor heard two gunshots, and called 911 at 8:53 a.m. The 39-year-old woman was found inside a minivan, and the 41-year-old man was found lying next to the minivan. Police say these two were not married, and have no common children. The woman does have children who have yet to be located.

Lisa Davenport tells CBS 58 she's friends with the 39-year-old female victim. She says her friend told her about the difficult time she was having with her boyfriend. "She's been through stuff. I'm just sure she never though he'd follow through with it," says Davenport.

The 41-year-old male victim's sister, Beverly Walker, describes him as kind and gentle. Walker says, "This is a monstrous situation, but I can't paint him as a monster because this is something I never saw."

Walker does remember hearing about an argument between her brother and his girlfriend.

We are withholding the names of the deceased until police have finished notifying family members of the shootings.
