Marquette introduces new athletic directorLarry Williams responds to university's handling of sexual assault allegations
Milwaukee--New athletic director Larry Williams spoke today about building on the outstanding tradition and values at Marquette University.
Williams also responded to a question about Marquette's handling of dorm room sex assault allegations involving student-athletes. Federal officials are now reviewing the cases. "I can guarantee you that under Father Pilars leadership, we will have processes in place going forward to where there will be a commitment to those processes that will address any issues that might come about," said Willams. Williams, who served as athletic director for the past 8 years at the University of Portland, begins his job at Marquette on January 2nd. University President Rev. Scott Pilarz added, "We will be vigilant going forward to make sure we are in full compliance with the law and that our students that Marquette is the kind of place where people look out for one another and take care of one another." |
