MPD Officer busted for theft at local food martMILWAUKEE- A Milwaukee police officer has been arrested for stealing from a local food mart back in November. According to the criminal complaint, 37-year-old Carl V. Howell was called to the Hopkins Food Mart to investigate a burglary on November 20, 2012. During the investigation Howell allegedly took $200 from the register then left. The complaint states that Howell was caught on a surveillance camera. He later admitted that it was him on the tape and that he resorted to theft because he was behind on his rent. Howell made his first court appearance on Tuesday. He will be back in court on January 31st. Officer Howell is charged with "Misconduct in Public Office" and "Theft". |
