MILWAUKEE-Interstate 94 was shut down in both direction Friday night just south of the airport. The Department of Transportation is installing the new Rawson Avenue Bridge.

The piece they're installing weight more than 3 million pounds.

A motorized vehicle with 180 wheel will help get the section in place, very slowly.

Then, they'll do it all over again with the other piece of the bridge.

It's expected the freeway will be closed until 10 Saturday morning.

The Rawson Avenue Interchange has been under construction since February.

The world should be finished by the fall.

Complicating matters on Friday night was a semi crash on the Airport Spur. A semi ended up on its side, there was some kind of spill and clean up took several hours and was still underway as of 10 p.m.

There are no reported injuries.
