MILWAUKEE---The fire and police commission reveresed its decision Tuesday and fired Richard Schoen from the Milwaukee Police Department.

Just last week they voted 2-1 to reinstate Schoen with a 60 day suspension.

Schoen is the officer caught on dash cam video striking a handcuffed female suspect in the face.

The reinstatement infuriated community activists.

The fire and police commission said it did not bow to public pressure or protests. They insist a better understanding of the rules helped them reach their new decision.
